For today’s Project Spotlight, our Minneapolis home exterior team completed a siding replacement along with painting services that achieved this homeowner’s ideal vision without exceeding their budget. The Client: A Homeowner in Ham Lake
Ham Lake is a small city located in the northern portion of the Minneapolis metro area, and that’s where this project starts. This client was in search of a reliable contractor to complete a siding replacement that would enhance the look of their home while lasting for years to come.
They prioritized finding an excellent company to work with, and after finding Wright at Home Roofing & Exteriors via Home Advisor, they submitted an online inquiry to work with our team.
Before: Aging Siding in Need of Replacement
Our client for this project had noticed that their siding was beginning to show clear signs of aging. As you can see from the before image, the existing siding was clearly weathered, crooked in places, and even showed stains and signs of damage in several areas. The client also felt it lacked detailing and touches that would truly make the home stand out. The homeowner’s hope was to fully replace the siding and renew the look of their home.
After: A Home, Rejuvenated
Our team set about replacing the home’s siding while coordinating the look with several elements that were on the home already, notably the brickwork, the garage door, and the roof. The new look carries over many of the same elements that the house already had but with cleaner lines, a pristine appearance, and much-needed detailing and texture that make the look of this home feel more cohesive and elegant overall.
How Wright at Home Roofing & Exteriors Pulled It Off
For this project, we spent a fair amount of time in the planning stages, working closely with the homeowner to create a vision they would love. As our client was only looking for a siding replacement contractor, our team would not be completing a roof replacement, and the existing garage door and brickwork would remain the same. This is common in completing a home exterior remodel, as many homeowners are understandably working within specific budgets and not looking to replace every element of their home’s exterior.
We completed a few consultations with this homeowner, using a home visualizer tool to compare different looks and identify areas where we could add details to make the home pop a bit more. While initially they considered vinyl siding, they wanted a look that would last and settled on James Hardie siding for the project. We chose a color palette from the Statement Collection, including Hardie Plank lap siding in Rich Espresso, Shingle siding in Timber Bark, and Cobblestone trim to provide detailing and contrast.
With the look settled, our team worked to take care of all necessary permitting—including a siding permit and an electrical permit from a licensed electrician, as the home’s lighting would need to be detached and replaced. We completed the full siding replacement as well as painting touch-ups to complete the appearance
The homeowner was delighted with our work, and we were glad to see the final transformation. We hope to work with them again—and we’ve been glad to receive multiple referrals from this client since completing the project.
